Eligibility

  1. Anyone over the age of 20 who is not a citizen of the Republic of China is eligible. (dual nationality is disqualified)
  2. When signing up, please provide a link to your personal social media profile, your total subscriber/follower numbers, and key engagement statistics. These will be used to review the application.
  3. Each application represents one party of up to 2 people.
  4. Applicants shall sign up with a valid and legal passport number. Each passport number can be used for only one application, and no repeat applications are permitted.
  5. After receiving the official admission notice from the organizer, within one business day after checking into the Office of the President, the accepted applicant must submit a post on their impression of Taiwan or experience of visiting the Office of the President and its surrounding areas. There are no restrictions on the format, but all work – images, texts, videos – must be submitted to the organizer for use. The author – in this case the accepted applicant – agrees to authorize the organizer to use, edit, and reproduce the aforementioned work, unconditionally and without compensation.
  6. The accepted applicant, within 15 days after checking out from Office of the President, must upload and make public a complete video on their public social media profile, and send the organizer a link to the published video. There is no limit on the length, but the video should include the specified contents as follows:

    • Unique Taiwanese attractions, activities, events, people or objects
    • Spend a night at the Presidential Office Building
    • Reasons why traveling in Taiwan is a must

The maker of the aforementioned video agrees to authorize the organizer, unconditionally and without compensation, to use, edit, and reproduce the video.

Schedule (based on Taiwan Standard Time GMT+8)

  1. Sign Up: There are two rounds of applications. Round One is open, and will close at the end of August. Round Two will be announced later.
  2. Admission Announcement: List of Round One's accepted applicants will be announced on the program's official website by September 30, 2019.
  3. Program Period: Round One, October 2019 to January 2020.
  4. Applicants can only sign up via the program's official website. No other form of application will be accepted.

Application

Contestants for each round of the program must submit their applications on the program's official website before the deadline (Round One deadline: 23:59(GMT+8) on August 31, 2019). Late or incomplete submissions will be automatically disqualified without notification.


Applicants must submit:


  1. A creative self-introduction video

    60 seconds minimum, 90 seconds maximum – based on the concept "Promote Taiwan." It should explain the applicant's motivation and why they are best suited for the program. There are no restrictions on the format and content, as long as it reasonably conforms to Taiwan's basic moral standards. The video should demonstrate the applicant's personal style, and motivation to become a promotional ambassador. Please upload the video onto a cloud space and provide the organizer with a link to access it.

  2. Travel Proposal

    The applicant must submit a completed online form, which includes the following information:


    • Nationality
    • Email
    • Number of Applicants
    • Passport number, name, and birth date (For a party of two, please include info for both applicants)
    • Passport issue date and expiration date (For a party of two, please include info for both applicants)
    • Motivation and reasons for traveling in Taiwan
    • The most attractive elements of Taiwan (attractions, food, culture, etc.) to the applicant, and how the applicant plans to promote them
    • Date of arrival and departure
    • Practical methods to maximize promotion and exposure of Taiwan to the world
    • Reasons why the applicant is the best candidate
    • Dates the applicant plans to spend at the Office of the President (Please provide a minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 available dates)
    • A link to the video
    • Personal Fanpage/Blog/Channel link

Rights and Obligations

  1. The applicant agrees to authorize the organizer, unconditionally and without compensation, to use, edit, and reproduce all audio and video files submitted by the applicant.
  2. Personal data of the applicant will be used only by the organizer and its co-organizers; personal data will not be sold, rented, authorized, transmitted, or disclosed to others, except for internal use by a government agency when permitted by law.
  3. The accepted applicant agrees to fully cooperate with the organizer's side filming activities throughout the stay at the Office of the President; agrees to authorize the organizer, unconditionally and without compensation, to make public all photos, audio and video footage shot within the Office of the President and its surrounding grounds on the official website and in promotional materials for related events.
  4. The applicant agrees to authorize the organizer, unconditionally and without compensation, to use, edit, and reproduce all work created by the applicant and their team, including images, texts, and videos.
  5. All travel expenses during the trip in Taiwan, including flights and accommodation, shall be borne by the accepted applicant. The organizer will only provide accommodation for one night at the Office of the President, with breakfast the following morning. In addition, the co-organizers will provide accommodation for one night at either a distinctive B&B or a star-rated hotel.
  6. The organizer reserves the right to retain, amend, alter, suspend, or terminate any content related to this activity at any time, and any relevant announcement on the official website shall prevail. For all matters not covered herein, the organizer reserves the right to make supplemental regulations, announcements, and interpretations.
